Company Profile
JR Mining Services Group consists of 3 privately owned companies; JR Engineering Pty Ltd, JR Strata Solutions Pty Ltd and JR Conveyors Pty Ltd that specialise in the mineral and excavation industries.
Founding Director, Jeff Young has 45 years of underground mining experience and is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, Fitter/Machinist and holds a Motor Mechanics License. His Occupational Health and Safety qualifications are; OH&S Supervisor Certificate, Certificate for Drug and Alcohol testing in the workplace, Accident/Incident Investigation Facilitator, Workplace Trainer/Assessor Certificate, Occupational First Aid Certificate, Risk Assessment Facilitator and Rehabilitation Coordinator.
JR Mining Services Group takes pride in their Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Training.
The company has three separate services.
Each identity services a different line of work however in some cases it is combined.
JR ENGINEERING
Include:
- General engineering, fabrication and machining.
- Mining equipment repairs/refurbs.
- Structural steel frame work fabrication and installations.
JR STRATA
Include:
- Longwall labour.
- Longwall relocations.
- Outbye labour.
- Secondary support.
- Ventilation labour (supply & install).
JR CONVEYORS
Include:
- Conveyor conditioning and reporting (splices, clips and rollers).
- Conveyor maintenance & installations.
- Belt splicing, steel cord, fabric, solid woven.

Company Mission
JR Mining Services Group aims to supply the highest quality of products and services. We also aim to uphold quality standards for the safety of our employees, the environment and with the utmost professionalism in all circumstances. We can provide efficient response to all situations in the shortest possible time by having our own specialised equipment and the ability to transport all our own equipment to and from site.
Employees consist of qualified Mechanical Engineers, Draftsmen, Fitter/Machinists, Fitters, Boilermakers, Belt Splicers, Electricians, Distribution Electricians/Line workers, Labourers and Apprentices. JR Conveyors/Engineering also have qualified trainers/assessors and believe in educating their employees in safety and personal development. Over half of our employees are first aid trained and this training is constantly ongoing.
We currently have qualified and work cover certified Dogmen and Riggers. Due to the heavy reliance of lifting and crane work in both the Mining and Conveyor belt industries we have found that having these qualifications is an integral part of our service. This helps to keep a trained workforce supplied to our clients.
JR Mining Services has several Quality Control Methods and Records to supply the client with accurate recording and documentation of tasks performed.
